Product Recall Policy

Indian Beverages maintains a comprehensive product recall plan to ensure the safety of our consumers and compliance with FSSAI regulations. This policy outlines our procedures in the unlikely event that a product safety issue is identified.

Recall Classification

Class I Recall

Situation where there is a reasonable probability of serious health consequences or death.

Class II Recall

Situation where use may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences.

Class III Recall

Situation where adverse health consequences are unlikely.

Recall Procedure

  1. Detection & Assessment: Immediate investigation of any product safety concern, regardless of source (customer complaint, internal testing, regulatory notification).
  2. Decision & Classification: Management team assesses risk and determines recall classification within 2 hours of confirmation.
  3. Regulatory Notification: Immediate notification to FSSAI and local food safety authorities within 24 hours for Class I/II recalls.
  4. Customer Notification: Direct communication to all distributors and retailers within 24 hours with recall instructions.
  5. Public Notification: Press release and social media announcement for Class I recalls; website notification for all recall classes.
  6. Product Retrieval: Collection and secure storage of recalled products from distribution channels.
  7. Disposal: Proper disposal of recalled products under regulatory supervision.
  8. Documentation: Complete record keeping of all recall activities for regulatory review.
  9. Post-Recall Analysis: Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.

Traceability System

We maintain a comprehensive batch tracking system that enables full traceability of all products from raw materials to distribution:

  • Unique batch codes printed on all product labels
  • Detailed production records for each batch
  • Distribution records tracking quantities to each customer
  • Raw material supplier and lot number documentation
